Family Photo

We take plenty of pics of the girls but have yet to take one of the four of us. Well, here you go. Only 14 weeks after Reese's arrival and we're all in one shot together.

PS - somebody's second birthday is Tuesday, my how time flies!!!

"You"

Apparently Ryan's name is "you" --- if you ask her what her name is or show her a picture of herself and ask who it is, that is the response "you". She knows mom is "mamma", dad is "dada", Reese is "Reese" but we have apparently pointed to one too many photos and told her that the smiling face is "you".

Here's a pic of Ryan testing out the toys at her new school. She had an orientation yesterday morning and LOVED it (she starts next week).....the only apprehension (read - temper tantrum) was when we left. She kind of had a serious boyfriend at her old school but apparently she's over him already as she was pretty psyched at all the new, fresh meat. I hope he takes the break-up okay....

Maternity Leave....RIP

It's been fun - 12 weeks of vacation: precious baby, walks, coffee, naps, daytime TV, Netflix, etc.... I suppose all good things must come to an end. Back to reality.

Reese's Pieces

On the eve of mom's return to work (pass the Kleenex), we would just like to take a moment to brag. All parent's claim their kid is a genius, but we really have one. Reese Bentley Stiff, at a mere 12 weeks of age, can read. Shortly after our previous post asking Reese to kick the 2am wake-up call, little Ms. Reese started sleeping through the night. Who knew she was such an avid reader of her own blog?

Thank you Reese!

Bubbalicious

Memorial Day and an automatic bubble maker, it doesn't get much better!

Thank you Ella!

Ella (Grant's mom) came to visit us over Memorial Day --- the girls had such a fun time! Thank you to Ella for all the goodies, we ALL appreciate them! We hope to see you again in August!

We did a poor job of documenting the visit, our attempt to make up for that is below with a smattering of random cute pics...

Buddha baby

Miss Reese is now 10.5 weeks old (time FLIES) and is still our sweet little babe. She's over 12 pounds now and 23+ inches long. She really is such a good baby - happy and smiley most of the time. If we must complain, and perhaps if Reese is reading this, we would kindly ask her to kick the 2am wakeup call. It would be lovely, with mom going back to work in 13 days, if you could just sleep till 5ish (hell, we'll even take 4am). While there is seriously nothing more enjoyable than sleeping with the cuddliest baby ever, we need to start working on a little separation. Let us know if that's cool Reese.

Lack of supervision...

and a box of Wheat Thins. Wish we could blame dad for this, but mom must have been Facebooking.

The anatomy of a fight...

1. The instigator sets her sights on her target
2. Instigator feigns disinterest to throw her prey off

3. Go in for the steal
4. Instigator attempts to get out quickly while prey is caught off-guard
5. Instigator channels her inner Meryl Streep to put on her best "I didn't do it" face while poor, unsuspecting prey vocalizes her displeasure with the situation

Fun with the Defees!

Our Denver buds Mark and Nicole came in town to meet Reese and play with Ryan! We had such a fun time and realized just how much we miss them!!!!! Ryan really took to her long, lost buds and especially loved coloring and jumping with them both.

Bathing beauties....

Almost two years has passed between these photos, yet it seems like yesterday Ryan was snuggled in her frog towel after a bath. Can you guess who is who?

*Ryan has the green binkie, Reese has the pink
