Car wash.....and a tire

Apparently it was 'buy a car wash, get a scooter wash for free' day over at the Stiffs.  And apparently the dress code was 'princess casual':
And apparently Clark, er I'm sorry, Grant, thought my post yesterday was sorely missing one very important frame: the solo tire swing shot. It's like the man birthed a tire swing and wants to proudly show it off for all to admire.
Tire Freakin' Swing
Born: 3/24/12
Time: 5:00pm
Weight: 20 pounds (give or take)
Height: certainly more than 40 feet

Swingers

So the girls have one of the best dad's ever as evidenced by what he accomplished this past weekend.   Clark Griswald Grant has wanted to hang a tire swing off one of the tallest trees in our backyard since pretty much the day we moved in.  A while back we spotted a tire swing out by the curb of one of our neighbors awaiting it's death via trash man.  Grant went to talk to the folks to make sure of the real reason it was curbside and yayyy for us, it still worked great, his kids had just outgrown it.  Fast forward a few months and this amazing weather and Grant got to work with two of our neighbors.  I should have documented the trial and error of the three grown men trying to get a rope over the branch which we all grossly underestimated at 'oh that's probably 40 feet up there'.....And when I say 'rope' it was actually a much more thought out system of which I got a little lost in the intricacies.  When all was said and done you would have thought an amusement park had opened up in the backyard by the screams of excitement at each push.  Even I gave it the good old college try and holy sh*t balls, it is fun!  Without further adieu:
Ryan's inaugural push (ignore the 5 foot tall grass - shortly after Grant spend the better part of the day mowing the backyard jungle)
PS - before we get hate mail, the swing is most certainly NOT off the skinny little guy on the right of this picture...the actual tree has about a 4-5 foot diameter.
The next few are not for the faint of heart (aka Grandma) - while it would appear we are trying to catapult our first born across the back fence and into a tree, we would never. We'll save that for our cousins:)
Screams of delight people. I swear. (And before my mother calls me freaking out, with a little tweaking of the tire swing height, you really can't be 'one with nature' anymore).
Reeser's turn!
She, naturally, didn't disappoint by raising our blood pressure a bit when on her second swing or so, she starts leaning backyards and bringing her feet up. Awesome. Reese was quickly reprimanded.
It didn't take long to become the hit attraction around these parts.....little girls gathered far and wide for a shot to ride
One even screamed with delight "this is just like Six Flags" ---- I will start charging admission pronto.
The faces were priceless
Well done Grant!

Painting

Interpreted by Reese.  I gave the little lady a paint brush and some water and she spent about an hour 'painting' everything she could on the back patio.  Apparently I am brilliant.  To keep this girl occupied (safely) and not making a ginormous mess, well I'm freakin' Einstein.
Happy Friday!

Pigtail brigade

In order to calm Reese down and get her off the ledge, I usually enlist Ryan (ironic seeing as 99% of the time she is the reason the Reesers is ready to self combust), anywho she likes to make random faces:

The Reesers turns 2!

Well holy bananas has two years flown by and holy mother effing bananas (yes I'm using expletives to accurately describe my daughter) to the preciously hysterical little tornado you have turned out to be.  Who would have guessed way back when.....

You are quite possibly one of the funniest, most stubborn, fearless yet cuddly (when you want to be) little humans I have ever met.  You make life a whole lot more interesting and heaven knows we couldn't imagine it without you.  As you are talking more and more, I think we all agree this year will be exciting to say the least as those sentences continue to fly.  Anyone who has ever heard you talk to yourself, quite adamantly, in your rambling mumbo-jumbo is sure anxious to hear what exactly is going on behind those gorgeous brown eyes of yours.
Working on holding up two fingers...
Raise both hands (and get half naked, and put your foot in an apparatus that is clearly not intended to be a pool) if you're 2!
We love you Reesers!

Dance Party

Disclaimer:  I still haven't mastered shooting indoors with my camera at night.  Instead I revert to converting them to 'antique' finish to doll them up a bit.  Forgive.  One day I will figure it out.
The actual dancers in this family (that is everyone but me), took to the streets floor last weekend for some fun - important notes:
A.  Reese wanted to wear one of Ryan's dresses over her own attire for the party
B.  Ryan apparently opted out of pants
C.  Grant is mid-robot in this pic (he does a mean robot, glad I caught a glimpse for you all)
Arms....sockets....whatever
Reese needed a breather...
Checking on her partner
Hands on hips...back in action
What pre-tell were they dancing to? This...
Still keepin' it classy around here
