Thank you Blogger

and Picasa.....for finally getting your act together and making it super easy to upload large photos of my babies.  Before today there was a lot of code work (and by 'a lot' I mean approximately 30 extra seconds but hey, time is valuable these days) to make my photos nice and big for you all.   Consider this your lucky day....I literally just loaded all the below photos in about 4 seconds flat.  Normally, I would have had time to upload about 3 and then a child would have pooped in a corner, started crying, demanded a snack, broken a lamp or climbed in the fridge..and I would have had to stop.  Emerson (or 'Em-is-sin' as Reese calls her) and her cuteness thank you as well.

Complete with my Starbucks toffee-nut chai latte and two napping babies (while Ryan is at school) and this is just about the best. day. ever.   For now anyway.

Two things...

This Vitamix has been purchased:
and this has been joined:
Watch out world!
And should I not utilize both of these to their full capacity, I need to watch it as the Mr. will not be very happy (should I go missing, you know who to talk to first).  Or these three either, but for different reasons as their eating habits are about to get rocked.  I'm looking at you Reese - those veggies are getting vitamixed *new word* into everything you touch sista.  Emerson, you'll never know any different so lose the 'tude and stick the tongue back in.  Ryan, you're already on board the semi-healthy train so your indifference is to be expected.

random

So this is basically just a bunch of randomness from my little head to your viewing eyes......

1.  I realized I have to start dinner preparation at about 3:45pm each day if I want to have something complete and nutritious by 6:30pm.  I have two people to thank for my ridiculously long cooking process......children #s 2 & 3.  Emerson for obvious cute, baby related reasons and Reese for some ridiculous potty training related disasters.  Thanks to our friend Tiffany (and I suppose more importantly Logan), I yanked the damn pull-ups again.  We did a whole big 'bye pull-ups, I'm a big girl' party.  Reese knows when she should go #2 and where #2s should end up but she is still stubbornly holding on to the belief that they are to exit in underwear and then not so carefully transported into the potty.  Alas, I have more bathroom cleanups than I care to imagine and back to the whole dinner preparation thing, on more than one occasion I have had to take a 20 minute detour to the bath or shower in the midst of dredging some chicken or cooking rice (complete with Emerson attached to me in the Baby Bjorn....awkward, frustrating and uncomfortable is an understatement).  We have since had one #2 success....still waiting to see if that is followed up with another...stay tuned
2.  My latest obsession have been the online shopping sites:  Joss and Main, One Kings Lane and The Foundary.  The items change daily and range considerably in price - but there are often inexpensive home decor finds for anyone on a budget.
3.  The Bachelor is my guilty pleasure every week.
4.  We've been on a healthy eating overhaul since Emerson's arrival and I pleased to say I am now a fan of quinoa and kale.  Not sure the rest of the family would agree, but props to Grant for at least trying my crazy healthy concoctions.  This quinoa recipe is my favorite thus far and I was pleasantly surprised at just how much I actually like plain ole steamed kale.   On the totally unhealthy front, our neighbor made us these little dessert snacks and they are hands down a family favorite.
5.  It only took 5+ weeks but I finally felt confident enough yesterday afternoon during nap time to sneak in a shower.  Normally I wait until Grant is home to man the nuthouse before jumping in.  Granted it wasn't the longest or most relaxing shower with a baby monitor blaring away, but it happened.  And I am clean.
6.  The littlest lady is starting to smile.....and non-gas related we think.  Precious.
7.  I've been very lucky that between my parents and a mom friend at Ryan's school, that up until last week, I didn't have to take all 3 kids up to Ryan's school to pick her up and drop her off.  Twice a day.   Four days a week.  Despite offering to continue helping, I figured I better face reality and all last week did the deed myself.  It didn't hurt that we had some nice weather.  And guess what....it wasn't that bad.  Taking the stroller is key as the car seat itself starts to feel like a ton of weights if I carry it and the stroller also keeps Reese at bay because she is my #1 steerer (not a word, but it is now).  Plus, since we're all loaded up in the car anyway, it's the perfect excuse to make a Starbucks run:)  Seeing as a drive-thru coffee shop is usually the outside-world highlight of our day during the week.
8.  Emerson is damn cute, evidence below:
That's it for now....

Photo shoot

We did an impromptu photo shoot yesterday after I decided we would make Valentines cards for all of Ryan's school friends vs buying them.   We eventually let Reese and Emerson in on the fun.   A few of the 'unused' photos below.....
'photo shoots' now translate into bed jumping around here...

Obligatory look of frustration from Ryan in response to Reese's lovely ability to ignore all direction given by the 'talented' photographer....

Oh Reese....

Time to insert some almost-five-week-old-cuteness to the mix:

Attempt at creativity.....making a heart shape with Emerson inside.  Not so much.
Final product....we made two versions per Ryan's request and she shall choose one once Walgreens prints them all off (a whopping $4 for 50 total copies with a current 40% sale right now).....and 'duck friends' are her classmates, not her 'Duck Dynasty' viewing party friends.   Easily confusing.

1 month!

Hard to believe it's already been a month!  The little lady still rocks in the 'new baby' department - so chill and precious and perfect:)

She is human though (and lives with two crazy sisters) so from time to time Emerson does revolt....
