Depot days....

The girls love, love, love their home improvement stores. Lights, fans, bath tubs, paint samples, the list goes on and on. Nothing rounds out a good old fashioned family weekend like contributing to the bottom line at Home Depot.
What you don't see is the (quite funny) scuffle between the girls because the shopping cart was missing a steering wheel. Good heavens they be forced to share. Apparently 'share' is the new four letter word in our house. We can't even fully blame Ryan for this one, as Reese comes into her own, girlfriend likes her toys and she likes them NOW. Wonder where she got that?

Weekend Update

About a month ago, an overzealous couple opted to take advantage of some unseasonably warm weather and put out their patio furniture, umbrella included.  Then that crazy bast*ard we call 'St. Louis' decided to drop a nice winter storm into the mix about a week afterwards. The patio umbrella did not survive. Enter our new friend, 'Sam's Club' who happened to have one umbrella in stock and on sale.....that one umbrella was begging to be picked up as it matched our patio furniture perfectly. Enter this weekend and the beautiful weather we had that begged for the umbrella to go back up so the Stiffs could enjoy the back patio.

Naturally, Ryan was right there to help dad....

Randomness

I know, super creative blog title. But folks, that's all you're getting today.

Now that we have two walking babes, outdoors has been a whole lot more exciting. The girls love their swing set and water station; so much so that if you come within 20 feet of a slide, Reese's slidar (get it, like radar or gaydar)goes off, her finger starts pointing in its direction and the whining commences. Bring on the margaritas, this is going to be a long summer.

Hi, my name is Reese. I want to play outdoors, climb up my slide, almost kill myself falling off it backwards, eat some dirt, splash in the water and then go immediately to my room the second it is 6:30pm and fall asleep.
And my name is Ryan. I want to be outside but only while it's a comfortable temperature and the sun isn't in my eyes. Then I prefer to chill out indoors. But while in the presence of nature, I like to splash everyone with water but oh-hells-to-the-no if you try and splash me. I like gardening but just not the way mom advises, I prefer the mulch-to-concrete method vs keeping it contained in it's natural state.

Biters x 2

And we thought we had only one biter in this family. Well, peeps, we are wrong. Grant and I are proud to announce that Reese Bentley has been giving her sister a run for her money in the much coveted 'biting' category. It would appear Ryan has opted to retire her title and the moment was just too appealing for Reese not to take advantage. With a proud tear in my eye, the Reesers even brought home her first note from school for 'biting a friend'. Milestones.
