Nap time

Emerson has tried to give up her nap for a few months now (sad face) but inevitably she falls asleep a few times a week (especially after a long day of swimming) in some random spots.....rarely a bed though.  If you try and move her to the comforts of her bed for a late afternoon snooze, she will immediately bolt out yelling "I'm not tired.  Emme not tired".  If she's been quiet for awhile, I often know that I'll find her sound asleep under the kitchen table, on a chair, couch, floor and even the landing of the stairs....and usually clad only in a diaper.

I mean, doesn't the bed look most inviting?

Apparently not as comfy as some other spots....

But hell, sleep is sleep so have at it girl....

Michigan!

We are back in business, mostly settled into our new house and getting ready for school to start next week.  Crazy talk to have both Ryan and Reese at school all day.  What will I do with my time:)

We spent the 4th of July up in Michigan again this year thanks to my folks who rented the same house and my siblings, and their families, who joined.  We had a great time - celebrated Ryan's 7th birthday, the brave ones swam in the cold water, played many a Red Rover game, ate a lot of ice cream.  Some shots (and by 'some' I mean 40+) from the trip:
