Career Change

I am beyond excited (almost as excited as I would be announcing a pregnancy....which I'm not so this is second best) to let you all know that I have been given the promotion of all promotions.....Domestic Engineer.  Many of you already know, some of you might not, but I had not been happy in my job for quite some time now and finally, finally, I was able to get out with a little severance package tucked in my back pocket.  It had been in the works for awhile now but was made official Thursday at lunchtime when I turned in all my work-y things (computer, phone, badge, corporate credit card) and walked out the doors for the last time.  Talk about giddy and excited!  You'd have thought I won the lottery instead of heading out into the daunting and slightly scary world of one-salaried families.  But here we are, Day 1 of my new job.  My two employees have so nicely opted to sleep in, the sun is shining and the double stroller is calling our name. I couldn't be happier to be spending my time with these two crazies:
*PS - I am under no illusion that this will be easy, I am positive my wine consumption around 5pm will increase dramatically.....

Congrats! NOTE: We have a stroller too, and a car that can drive to meet you at a park or winery after 5pm. You're going to LOVE it!

Congratulations on the new job! I know you will do great. Even if it is a challenge, make it sound easy on the blog and maybe I'll finally take the plunge.

That is great news Leslie! Staying at home is the greatest gift my husband has ever given me. While you do have your challenging days when you are wondering if it is almost bed time, most of them I wouldn't trade for the world. :) Enjoy!
