I'll take 'Pigtails' for $200 Alex...

The answer is "sporting her first set of pigtails"
$200 fake dollars to you if you guessed Reese!

Have pigtail....will hold hands. It's part of the pigtail creed.
Have pigtail....will bear hug.
Have pigtail....will look utterly adorable
Have pigtail....will back my booty up into random car seat on the floor and watch Barney

Bad hair day....

Or ridiculously-so-stinkin'-cute-I-could-kiss-her-face-off hair day? You be the judge.
Pardon the picture quality, apparently for $49 you get the grainy camera phone version.

Daddy Blogs

Middle of the second week and mommy had to call in a pinch-blogger.
I have included some artistic photos of my little darlings!
Please enjoy!

At least she has them on her face - Reese usually just eats my sunglasses.
This sums it up - Reese laughing, Ryan eating and preparing to claw Reese.
Drooling while Dad looks up college football schedules
The loss of hair is mainly due to Mom worrying about the loss of hair - self fulfilling really.
Better her than me - knock on wood.

Daddy - out.

TGIF!

Happy Friday from the Stiff gals!  This week was summed up with:

  •  Going potty on the toilet (but only when a potty prize is involved, rarely for the better good of the pottier)
  • Modern day hot-oil treatment:  As Ryan was helping us do the dishes, we turned around only to find her wiping Reese's hair with the butter-soaked brush Grant used to baste the fish
  • After a long Wednesday, Ryan looked mom up and down with slight disgust on her face and then simply pointed to the bathroom and said "shower mama, shower"
  • And probably the most disappointing news of the week --- our precious Reese who has had a fabulous mane of hair since her arrival here outside the womb, is following in her sister's footsteps and opting for a well groomed mullet*.  Grrrrrr.  So sad.  She is like a shedding dog.  We're all still in shock and mourning those brown locks.
*the hair you see in this picture is all that is left on Ms. Reese.

Ryan the girl, finally!

As you know, Ryan has been rocking a lovely mullet these last few months. Our little tomboy REFUSES to girlify (sure, that's a word) her look. Mom finally had enough and while we spent some time down at the lake with Grandma & Grandpa, we bought some hair clips and waged a war. It was brutal at first, Ryan would probably describe it as torture. However, with some reverse psychology (mom is pretty smart after all) and persistence, we finally got Ryan to embrace the hair clip - she even ASKS for it now! Hallelujah!!! We won't get too carried away as sometimes the clip only stays in for 5 minutes but hey, baby steps. Our little photo documentation follows.

Mom could quite possibly be the worst human being ever - why would she do this to me???
I am going to stand here and HATE this, but I'll leave it in...
Still not happy, too distraught to move or attempt to pull it out.
I'm a girly girl!!! Granted it's a different hair clip than above (we graduated from pink to yellow) - look how cute I am!

March updates and general cuteness...

We are 13 short days away from Ryan's sister's due date (if we make it that long) --- my doctor thinks we'll go early but time will tell. Meanwhile, we are physically ready for baby #2, perhaps not mentally just yet. We're anxiously awaiting to see Ryan's reaction to her new sister - I think it'll be a nice form of comic relief to see Ryan adjust.

Saturday morning doughnuts (mom's favorite diet of late):
We took Ryan to a 'new sibling' class at the hospital last weekend --- of all the toddlers there, our little diva was the only one who had ZERO interest in reading a story about babies and playing with the newborn baby dolls (in fact she cried and pushed the doll away), all Ryan wanted to do was head back to the big table and color. At the end of class we finally persuaded her to hug one of the fake babies. So while the class was a bust, we're slightly hopefully that any jealousy issues with the new addition can easily be cured with crayons.
So maybe mom has a problem.....Dunkin' Donuts twice in one day - Ryan got a munchkin donut.
It only took 20.5 months but we finally got a ponytail holder in Ryan's precious mullet. The girl HATES anything in her hair - getting this puppy in could be considered child abuse in some states but once in and she's distracted, she sported the ponytail for a whopping 5 hours!!!! Success.
The playground at daycare --- Ryan is always excited to see us when we pick her up in the afternoon but heaven forbid you get there moments after the kids have come outside to play. Whoa. No likey leaving the slide early.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

We have been severely lacking in the blog-updating department..... Here are a few oldies but goodies from the summer before we get into all of Ryan's fall pics.

First trip to the barber shop; obviously not for the 5 strands of hair Ryan has, but to keep dad company for a bit.
At the park with mom - enjoying the 'wa-wa':
Grandpa and his two favorite peeps at Bagel Day.
Jack's face pretty much sums up his relationship with Ryan. Always in fear of what she may be up to next....
The greatest babysitter Lowe's has to offer. Ryan LOVES Lowe's (or Home Depot) and is even more obsessed with the bath tubs - it's quite the nice little break for mom and dad.
Fun. Seriously.
Pooped after a long, fun summer - time to rest up for a busy fall.
