Back to the lake...

For the second half of Ryan's 'birthday weekend', the lady wanted to head down to the lake for a little swimming and relaxation.  And seeing how we had limited time to spare, we crammed in a fun lake trip in a little over 24 hours.  Yes, we drove 3 hours (each way) just to stay one night but if you do nothing but swim and snack, it's well worth the car ride - and, amazingly, didn't feel rushed.

The second we walked through the doors of Grandma and Grandpa's condo, the ladies were stripping off their clothes asking to swim.
Waving to the helicopters overhead...
For what we thought might be a busy, holiday mess....the pool was almost empty most of the time.
Gotta love the freedom that water wings bring...the Reesers was cruising the deep end.
Watching for 'fish and boats'
Topless with a sunhat and iPad....such is the life of a 2 year old.
Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for handing over the keys and such a favorable 'holiday rate'!

Lake living....2011

The girls and I just got back from a busy mini-vacation to the lake with Grandma, Papa, Barbara and Christopher. We could all use a vacation from the vacation now. 3 kids under 3. Enough said.

Work hard, play hard. Reesey's motto. As evidenced by this little gem on her forehead, the result of being a little too anxious to head outside and ignoring the threshold of the door.
Someone really enjoyed the water!
A little scenery
Not all that impressed with lake living, especially with two CRAZY girls ready to pounce on him at any given minute.

Girls Gone Wild - Spring Break 2010

This week dad had a lot of work to do so mom and the girls went down to the lake for the week with Grandma & Grandpa to relax and party it up!
Clearly Reese enjoyed herself - a little too much fun perhaps...
Ryan and Grandpa out on the deck - gotcha!
Wild times with a bowl. That's about as crazy as it got!
A special thanks to super Grandma Peg for giving mom the greatest gift of all --- a night's sleep. My mom was a saint and gave me two nights off by taking care of Reese. It was Christmas in April!

Lake Time!

A few weeks ago, Grant and I took Ryan down to the lake to visit Grandma & Grandpa. If driving 2.5 hours with one baby isn't enough, why not two? We had the brilliant idea to take Ryan's cousin Jack down with us as a surprise. Armed with a new car DVD player and hours of Yo Gabba Gabba, we set off for the drive. To our delight (and my case for having more than one child), Ryan and Jack couldn't have been better. At one point, they were even holding hands. Ahhhhhh - young, forbidden love. Just like Flowers In The Attic....

Despite their fondness for each other, they are in fact just babies, and still learning the meaning of the word 'share'.

Ryan laying the ground rules for Jack out at the pool.
"This is my weekend, my parents, my pool - don't mess with me, take my floaty, or swim with my mom - got it?"
The look of trouble x 2:
I told you to keep quiet Jack! You ruin everything!
Jack beginning to learn that when Ryan is around, you need to hang on tight to your toys.

I don't know what you're talking about Ryan, there are no toys here, and they are certainly not behind my back, you best look elsewhere....
Even though I have a $1.99 beach ball, I want YOUR same exact $1.99 beach ball. But only because you want to play with it right now. If you ignore it, so will I. And that's how this weekend will go....
It's mine, and if I have to push on it and attempt to pop it, then so be it. Neither of us will play with it.
Jack in deep thought; starting to question why he agreed to this whole thing. That Ryan can be one tough ____.
Seriously Grandpa, call my dad. He'll come pick me up.

Return to the lake!

Earlier this month we went back down to the Lake of the Ozarks for a visit with Grandma and Grandpa.  Ryan is really getting used to having a little vacation home on the water.

Our little gatekeeper - slip her some cash and she'll let you in...
Pretty, pretty baby.
Entertaining the group - clapping is FUN!
Making her case for the inheritance.  Grandpa seems interested, little Jack should start to worry.  What you can't see is Ryan taking post-its and claiming all the lake furniture she would like someday.
Grandpa sure is a sucker for me - sorry Jack, this will all be mine some day.
Gotcha!
Staying up wayyyyyy past my bedtime with mom...

Spring Break 2009!

Party coves, late nights, endless drinks..... Wild and crazy Ryan enjoyed her first Spring Break (holla!) at the Lake of the Ozarks this past week when both mom and dad were out of town. Grandma & Grandpa tried to keep our little party animal in check, but by the looks of the photos below, they may have had their hands full....

Another 'wild' sunset

Getting crazy with my toys!

Booty-licious.

Wild days!

Fun with mirrors...

Who is that pretty girl I keep staring at?

Perhaps a bit too much to drink? We're not really sure what Grandma likes to give her in her sippy cup.

Even a party girl can be serious. Discussing the piracy issues off the coast of Somalia over pasta.

Corn.....Yuck.

Washin' up before hitting the town...

Enjoying the warm temps and sunshine... Spring Break Rocks!!! Not looking forward to heading back to the daily grind.

Lake Living...

Life isn't too bad now that Grandma & Grandpa have a spot at the Lake of the Ozarks.  When city life gets too hectic (daycare, Morning Joe, naps, nursing, etc...), it's nice to have a little vacation spot.

Not a bad view!
Chillin' with grandpa...
Teaching dad a thing or two about beer!  Label out, dad!
When are you people just going to let me walk on my own already???
Proof that our happy baby is human.......
