Lake Time!

A few weeks ago, Grant and I took Ryan down to the lake to visit Grandma & Grandpa. If driving 2.5 hours with one baby isn't enough, why not two? We had the brilliant idea to take Ryan's cousin Jack down with us as a surprise. Armed with a new car DVD player and hours of Yo Gabba Gabba, we set off for the drive. To our delight (and my case for having more than one child), Ryan and Jack couldn't have been better. At one point, they were even holding hands. Ahhhhhh - young, forbidden love. Just like Flowers In The Attic....

Despite their fondness for each other, they are in fact just babies, and still learning the meaning of the word 'share'.

Even though I have a $1.99 beach ball, I want YOUR same exact $1.99 beach ball. But only because you want to play with it right now. If you ignore it, so will I. And that's how this weekend will go....

It's mine, and if I have to push on it and attempt to pop it, then so be it. Neither of us will play with it.

Happy 1st Birthday Ryan Elizabeth

We've come a long way in one year! Congrats to our precious baby girl on her first birthday! This isn't her only milestone this week, little Ryan isn't so little anymore - she took her first official steps!

Saturday was a little soiree for Ryan's buddy Charlotte and her cousin Alex - joint 1st B-day celebrations!

Mom is never going to be as crafty as Amanda, so we figured we'd just 'borrow' Charlotte's cake and pass these pics off as Ryan's 1st Birthday!  All together now, "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Ryan, we're sorry your parents suck"......

Memorial Day Fun!

Ryan's first Memorial Day Weekend was a busy one!  She had two out-of-state visitors; Ella (Grant's mom) and Aunt Barbara.  We had such a good time seeing both of them and really appreciate all the toys and gifts they brought Ryan.  Oh, wait, Aunt Barbara brought squat, nada, nothing.  But Ella supplied Ryan with an assortment of fun new learning toys and pj's. Thank you Ella!!!!

Some quality bonding time with her cousin Jack - he has 9 months and about 15 pounds on her, but Ryan can hold her own.  They are fun to watch!
