Squash.....Yuck.

So Reesey is growing like a weed.  No like.  With that, as she is approaching 6 months old, not only is she rolling like crazy, she's now sitting up, scooting backwards, and voila.....the first tooth has made it's appearance.

With that, it was only fitting we experiment with big girl food.  We gave some butternut squash a try.  I will let the pictures do the talking:

Ryan is going through a phase right now, simply called "I hate water on my head".  What was once a fun, relaxing time before bedtime in the bath is now akin to a torture chamber.  The shrieking and protesting at getting her hair washed is quite impressive.  So, naturally, it's fun to mess with her and push her buttons by asking her randomly throughout the day if she would like her hair washed....  The other night, we were pushing on 48 hours without a wash and I decided to give her the option of shower or bath.  She choose shower.  The conversation then went like this:
Mom:  We're going to wash your hair in the shower.
Ryan:  No, mama, no wash hair.
Mom:  Yes Ryan, your hair is dirty, we need to wash it.
Ryan:  No, mama, hair NOT dirty.
Mom:  Yes, Ryan, your hair is dirty.
Ryan:  Mama, I said hair NOT dirty.  No clean.  No need wash.
Mom:  Yes, Ryan, your hair is dirty.
Ryan:  Mama, NOOO DIRTY!!!!!!

You can imagine how fun that shower was.

A summation of our family dynamic:  Ryan holding court being her usual nutty self,  sweet little Reese amazed and in adoration of her big sister:

We're going to deviate from the usual gushing over Ryan and Reese to acknowledge their cousin Jack and his first week of pre-school.  Holla!

Granted, Jack hated school the second day when mom had to actually leave but we're hoping he'll get over it before he gets his driver's license.

Perhaps not to that extent (yet) but Ms. Ryan will ask you "what are you doing?" "what's that" "who's that" "why"...you get the picture.  

The best 4 years of his life!

Happy Anniversary Grant!!!  A lot has happened in the last 1,460 days:

• 11 dead mice
• countless coffee 'reheats'
• 3 looooong drives to/from Denver
• 3 seasons of wasting our lives away watching Big Brother
